Torlesse bottled only 300 cases of their 2007 Riesling and we snagged a few! It's refreshing and lively, the kind of wine that makes a conversation flow. Brilliant lime zest and orange notes contrast with crisp mineral character. It's clean and fresh, so we like it as an aperitif. And it's great with lemon pepper chicken from the deli!

Riesling is one of the few white wines that gains complexity with age, so you can lay this one in the cellar for up to 10 years? if you can wait that long.

Here’s an exciting find for fans of Pinot noir! New Zealand’s southerly Central Otago region has rapidly developed a reputation for expressing a special "terroir", one that is unique throughout the world. Though this region shares a similar latitude with Burgundy, Central Otago’s warmer, drier climate allows this persnickety grape to ripen more fully. The resulting wines exhibit distinctively deep, fruity attributes that are much-loved by Pinot noir enthusiasts.

Bannock Brae’s Estate Barrel Selection exemplifies the best of the Central Otago terroir.
